Ring Ceremony

RING CEREMONY--APRIL 25, 2012
The Ring Ceremony is a recent tradition at Southeastern Louisiana University which
began in 2006. Before then Southeastern did not have an Official Ring. Now, Southeastern
has an official ring and pendant. The pendant was first given to ABC News Anchor,
Robin Roberts, who graduated Class of 1983.
Our ring evokes special memories of the traditions and images of Southeastern: Strawberry
Jubilee, Gumbo Ya Ya, the Bonfire, Homecoming, and Friendship Oak. The Official Ring
is a symbolic, continuous link with university experiences, fellow classmates, and
alumni.
Students qualified to wear the ring proudly reflect the traditional and lasting values
of Southeastern Louisiana University.
Those who have ordered their official rings will have them presented by Dr. Crain,
the President of the University on Wednesday, April 25th, 2012. All ring recipients
will be notified and are encouraged to participate.
