Honors Club 1st Meeting

Wednesday, September 6, 2017 3:30pm-4:30pm, 120 Meade Hall

Come to this first meeting of the re-instituted Southeastern Honors Club.  The club will meet twice per month and is open to all Honors students.  Students will determine the activities of the club, but they are sure to include opportunities for leadership, growth, and fun.


Honors Lunch at the Mane Dish

Trivia Night in the Dorm

Wednesday, September 20, 2017- Room 138 D Vickers Hall

Do you have a head for useless trivia?  Come show us your stuff as the Honors Director referees the varsity sport of the mind.  Top teams and individuals will be recruited to represent Honors in the Phi Kappa Phi 16th Annual Homecoming Quiz Bowl.

Take up the buzzer and compete or just come cheer your Honors classmates on to victory.  Teams of four students compete to buzz in and answer trivia questions.  The winning team takes on the faculty.


Spring Course Connect Event

Tuesday, October 17th from 4:30-5:30 pm & Wednesday, October 18th8:00-9:00 am in Ballroom A of the Student Union.

Come hear about Honors classes offered next semester.  Learn how an H-option works.  Find out what to do if you have credit for the non-Honors version of a core course.  Figure out how Honors fits into your major and more.  All first semester freshmen should attend one of the two sessions.


Mid-October to Mid-November

Honors students enjoy priority registration beginning November 13.  Make the most of it by getting advised before that to have your Honors hold lifted.  You can make an appointment with the Honors director (honors@southeastern.edu) to talk face-to-face or complete the online advising form.


Thesis Informational Meeting

It’s never too early to start thinking about ideas for your senior project.  Late sophomores and early juniors are encouraged to come hear about the process, pick up sample theses, and ask questions about their own journey to the Honors diploma.


Honors Senior Thesis Presentations

November 27-30

Seniors defend their theses the last week in November.  Be on the lookout for announcements about locations, thesis topics, and students’ majors.  Thesis Defense Week is a great time to hear from amazing undergraduate researchers and to get ideas for your own projects.
