Normally scheduled classes and activities at all locations will resume on Friday, January 19. Due to the recent weather closures, the deadline for making schedule adjustments (Drop/Add period) has been extended until Tuesday, January 23 at 5:00 p.m. The final fee payment deadline has been extended to Wednesday, January 24 at 5:00 p.m. Further information on any additional changes to the spring calendar will be forthcoming.

About the College

The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences oversees and provides support for six academic departments and two individual degree programs.

We are committed to providing students with an intellectually stimulating and challenging experience in the classroom, research lab, art studio, music hall, and stage. Our 172 full-time and 98 part-time faculty are truly dedicated to engaging our 2,980 majors in their disciplines, to developing our students' intellect and creativity, and to providing them with educational opportunities that increase their chances of success as scholars, artists, and professionals.

Because it is a major provider of courses in the University's general education curriculum, the faculty of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences teach approximately 6,945 full-time-equivalent students each semester. In conjunction with the College of Science and Technology, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences is committed to providing a general education program that enhances students' intellectual and cultural world, providing them with resources to live fuller and richer lives. The faculty of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences strive to teach students to be both flexible and disciplined thinkers who can approach life situations from multiple perspectives and who can solve problems in diverse situations that span their work, personal, and civic lives. With a strong base of knowledge and technical skills, flexible, analytical and scientific thinkers can adapt relatively easily to the inevitable changes that occur in our world.
